If there’s one thing the Australian travel industry knows how to do, it’s go full throttle when the occasion calls for it. And last weekend? The occasion was the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Australian Grand Prix, with Explora Journeys turning up the heat on and off the track in partnership with the Alpine F1 Team.

Champion treatment in the Paddock Club
Forget the grandstands. Explora Journeys went all out, giving their guests access to the exclusive Champion Lounge, the pinnacle of trackside luxury. The experience was only getting started. With the much sought after paddock access passes in hand we took a pit walk, getting up close with the F1 cars before they hit the track. But the real highlight? A behind-the-scenes tour of the Alpine garage, where we got a rare insight into the precision and power behind the Alpine F1 Team’s race-day operations.

If you’re going to do lunch at the Grand Prix, this is how you do it. We were treated to a private dining experience in the Alpine F1 Team’s ‘motorhome’, rubbing shoulders with the team and soaking up the energy of race day from within the heart of the paddock. We even got to sit next to the eccentric Flavio Briatore who returned to F1 with Alpine in his usual flamboyant style!
