Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) say that the 2032 Olympic Games to be held in Brisbane and South East Queensland, already dubbed the “Sunshine Games” will provide the perfect opportunity for the “bleisure” industry to take flight.
The Australian corporate arms of Flight Centre Travel Group (FCM, CT, Stage and Screen and Flight Centre Business Travel) have collectively welcomed the announcement that Brisbane is set to host the Summer Games in 2032, predicting that business travel would take off more than ever.
“For more than two weeks, Brisbane and the Sunshine State will have the eyes of the world on it and the benefit for business, the economy and job creation are undoubtedly endless,” said Flight Centre Travel Group General Manager Australia James Kavanagh.

According to the Queensland Government Value Proposition Assessment, there would be an estimated increased visitor expenditure with around 50 per cent of international travellers dispersing to the regions (an uplift of approximately $10 billion).
