Cheers to the men in charge of the mouse with big ears who confirmed new accommodation options for the ‘happiest place on earth‘, Disneyland Park in California.

For the first time in almost two decades, Disneyland will receive a new hotel located near the west end of the Downtown Disney District.

Although we don’t know the property’s name, we can confirm the hotel will have around 700 rooms featuring “a sophisticated design with extensive landscaping and water elements creating a resort oasis”.

Hot diggity dog!

Guests, regardless of which level they’re sleeping in, will have a view of nature as well the Downtown Disney District, and they’ll have an easy time travelling between hotel and park thanks to the dedicated Disneyland Monorail platform located inside the hotel.

Another key feature of the property will be the upper-level restaurant and lounge where guests can go to unwind after a day of rides and enjoy a view of the Disneyland Park fireworks.

The only downside is, you’ll have to wait another four years to enjoy the new hotel as it isn’t set to open until 2021.

Although Disneyland may be one of the main reasons people are heading to Anaheim in California, the destination’s tourism leaders are on a mission to let the world know there’s more to the city than the theme park.

At a recent event in Sydney, Visit Anaheim’s bosses said travellers, particularly Aussies, will appreciate the city’s varied shopping, culture and entertainment options.
