OH MICKEY! DISNEY PLANS TO BUILD MORE SHIPS

Boy is it a busy week for Disney! Off the back of plans to release the world’s first Star Wars resort, the company has announced it’s going to nearly double its cruise line’s fleet in the next six years.

Disney Fantasy, Dream, Wonder and Magic will be joined by three new ships in 2023, bringing the Disney Cruise Line fleet up from four vessels to seven.

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek confirmed the news over the weekend, saying the new ships will each carry around 2,500 passengers.

Although the cruise line is yet to reveal extensive details on the new ships, Chapek did confirm they would take “family cruising vacations to a whole new level” with revolutionary design.

KarryOn also think it’s safe to assume the three ships will be the ‘happiest place on Earth’ with Princess, Star Wars and maybe even Marvel-related features and activities.

“We decided two ships wouldn’t be enough to hold all of the exciting new experiences we have been dreaming up to take family cruise vacations to a whole new level.”

“By the time all three new ships are sailing, we’ll have nearly doubled the size of our existing fleet.”

The cruise line is yet to decide where the ships will sail, but we’ve had our money on the brand sending one its magical vessels down under since David Clark was appointed to manage Disney Destinations in Australia.

The first of the three new vessels is expected to be released in 2021, followed by the second in 2022 and the third in 2023.

Do you hope the cruise line sends a ship to Australia?
