Mandarin Oriental to make its Australian debut in Melbourne

Melbourne isn't just the 'it' aviation city in Australia right now, it's also a hot spot for hoteliers, with several new accommodation planning to open their doors in the city.

In the space of two months three hospitality groups confirmed expansion into Melbourne including IHG, which is building a Hotel Indigo property, TFE Hotels is opening an Adina Apartment Hotels and the Art Series Hotel Group recently confirmed a ‘Chen’ hotel just outside the CBD.

Now, The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is moving into Australia with a hotel and branded residences opening in Melbourne in 2023.

Standing at 185-metres high on Collins street, the Mandarin Oriental Tower will feature 196 guestrooms and suites along with 148 Residences located on the upper floors.

An all-day dining restaurant and bar with a roof terrace will be available to hotel guests along with a fitness centre and indoor swimming pool.

Groups and conferences will be able to secure a variety of meeting spaces and there’ll be an executive club lounge available for business travellers.

Landream, the group tasked with developing the property, believe the Mandarin Oriental, Melbourne will “set a new stand for luxury” in the city.
