HUGE NEWS! Qantas to fly Dreamliner across the Tasman over summer

If you’ve wanted to test out one of Qantas’ 787-9 Dreamliner for some time, but couldn’t afford the flights over to London, San Francisco or Hong Kong, then here’s your chance.

Qantas has today announced that it will be operating the 787-9 Dreamliner on trans-Tasman flights over the peak summer period.

So start planning that Christmas holiday!

From 4 December 2019 through to 28 March 2020, the Dreamliner will fly on one of five of Qantas’ daily flights between Sydney and Auckland.

The switch in aircraft will allow Aussies and Kiwis to travel short-haul on the next generation aircraft and see what all the fuss has been about regarding the spacious Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class cabins.

Qantas International Acting CEO Naren Kumar said the debut of the Dreamliner across the Tasman was good news for customers, while also making the best use of the airline’s fleet.

“The Dreamliner has been incredibly popular so we’re pleased to give our customers travelling between Sydney and Auckland the opportunity to experience it.”

“The 787 will also offer customers the option to experience our latest Premium Economy cabin and the opportunity for Frequent Flyers to upgrade using Qantas Points,” he added.

Fares are now available to book at through Travel Agents or through the airline’s website, with a special sale for seats in Premium Economy from $299 one-way for Qantas flights QF141 and QF144 between Sydney and Auckland.
