Who's speaking at this year's Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit?

Destination NSW CEO Sandra Chipchase and marketing and sales head for Big4 Holiday Parks of Australia Campbell Davies have been confirmed to speak at the Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit on the panel discussing regional dispersal of tourists.

Destination NSW CEO Sandra Chipchase and marketing and sales head for Big4 Holiday Parks of Australia Campbell Davies have been confirmed to speak at the Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit on the panel discussing regional dispersal of tourists.

Regional tourism was recently given a big push by the Tourism Australia Super Bowl commercial starring Chris Hemsworth and Danny McBride.

The panel will discuss whether past and present initiatives have worked and how important it is to encourage tourist spread.

Completing the panel on regional dispersal is Monash University lecturer for the Graduate Tourism Program and director of the Australia & International Tourism Research Unit (AITRU), Dr Joseph Cheer.

Taronga Conservation Society Australia’s Libby Hodgson will also speak at the Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit. She will appear on a panel discussing marketing to the traveller on the move.

The session will explore the opportunities for travel brands to attract tourists with flexible itineraries and will be lead by Storyation’s Lauren Quaintance.

Meanwhile, New Zealand-based Sam Ramlu, managing director of Method Digital, will fly in from Auckland to speak on the panel discussing disruption in the travel industry.

Method Digital has recently released augmented reality tours of Auckland to promote its Maori heritage and has a deep background in games, experiential, virtual reality and augmented reality.

News Corp’s Omri Godijn, marketing and commercial industry director, travel, will also take part in the summit, joining the panel focusing on the USA and the new world of travel marketing.

The USA is going through its most significant transformation in decades and the panel, which also features Air New Zealand and Brand USA, will explore how this has affected those marketing travel to, from and in the USA.

The Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit takes place on April 12 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney with Earlybird tickets on sale now.
