Trafalgar is launching its Local Heroes initiative today, asking Australians to nominate their ‘Local Hero’ to say Thank You and give them the opportunity to win one of two holidays valued at up to $9,000 each.
Trafalgar has launched a beautiful initiative aiming to spread a little joy this Christmas, encouraging Australians to nominate their ‘local hero’ to say ‘Thank You’ for what they’ve been doing for others in the community.
The initiative shines a spotlight on the extraordinary individuals in communities around the country that have gone above and beyond through what has been an especially tough year for Australians, with the two most inspiring stories being awarded the prize in recognition of their contributions.
The winners will enjoy the trip of a lifetime to a European destination of their choice courtesy of Trafalgar, in partnership with Singapore Airlines. Each prize includes a $5,000 Trafalgar voucher, together with 2 x Economy Class return airfares to Europe with Singapore Airlines to get them to their dream destination in 2021 or 2022.
Plus, all nominees and nominators will receive an exclusive Trafalgar tour discount valid through until the end of 2022.

We all know them: Local Heroes. The people that help those in need and build up their communities by keeping them safe, supported and cared for.
From individuals aiding in rebuilding the devastating effects of the bushfires, to the frontline workers caring for those affected by COVID-19, or the many volunteers giving their time for so many important causes right across our country.
An absolute local hero is Gold Coast emergency nurse and owner of Southern Cross Assist, Brooke. On a normal day, she’s repatriating stranded ill or injured Aussies back home from around the world, already earning Brooke and her team the accolade in the eyes of her patients.
However, it’s Brooke’s efforts in continuing to venture overseas during COVID to assist others, which adds to her ‘hero’ status and is exactly what this initiative is all about.
These amazing Aussies are everywhere – a local business owner creating care pages for the elderly and those who cannot leave their homes, a counsellor aiding those that affected by mental health issues or a teacher who has gone out of their way to support their students and parents who are home schooling throughout these trying times.
