Gwyneth Paltrow rocks up to Flight Centre's Global Gathering

To say we're somewhat jealous of everyone that attended the annual Flight Centre Global Ball in Las Vegas over the weekend would be an understatement.

To say we’re somewhat jealous of everyone that attended the annual Flight Centre Global Ball in Las Vegas over the weekend would be an understatement.

Why you ask? What could have been so special you wonder?

Well, they had American actress, food writer and mother of two adorable children, Gwyneth Paltrow on stage as this year’s keynote speaker.

#Justdied.

The actress was interviewed by Australian TV presenter (and popular hunk) Jason Dundas.

Andrew Moros, who was at this year’s Global Gathering, described Gwyneth’s talk to KarryOn as ‘epic’.

Such an amazing, genuine, successful and all round AWESOME woman.”

He continued, saying the whole weekend was ‘one of the BEST weekends’ of his life and helped validate all the hard work over the last year.

It makes you feel like all the hard work was worth it,” Moros explained.

But Gwyneth Paltrow wasn’t the only big surprise this weekend.

While the rumour KarryOn heard about Mariah Carey being the big performing act this year wasn’t true, we weren’t too far off when we said Flight Centre would pull off another star act for the annual party of parties.

This year, the agency group managed to score pop rock band, One Republic.

Needless to say agents loved having the band on stage.

Also recruited to perform at the Global Gathering was Australia’s very own Human Nature, who perform regularly in Sin City and are currently working with tourism bureau Travel Nevada to promote trip around the state.

Aside from the huge celebrities, Flight Centre’s top sellers were kept entertained with hired dancers, a pool party and Canadian Mounties – Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Agents were also invited to put on their finest dresses and suits plus a mask for a Masquerade evening.

Here are three of our favourite pics from the ball:

Next year, Flight centre will return to Asia for the second time in three years, with the 2016 Global Gathering being held in Singapore.
