Helloworld may have just responded to Flight Centre’s arrangement with Tigerair by signing its own agreement with Jetstar.
Earlier this year, Flight Centre announced a three-year deal with Virgin’s budget off-shoot to give its Agents access to the carrier’s full suite of products and launch joint marketing activities designed to promote Tigerair’s new-look product and experience.
Now, Helloworld has revealed a similar arrangement with Jetstar that runs for one year and involves joint marketing and sales activities, investigating new commercial opportunities and exploring benefits to the businesses.
It’s the low-cost carrier’s first arrangement with a travel distributor in Australia and will come into effect from 1 August 2016. Helloworld will also continue its two-year commercial arrangement with Qantas, which takes effect from 1 July 2016.
According to Helloworld Chief Executive and Managing Director, Andrew Burnes, the partnership is an important milestone to build on “Helloworld’s strong relationship with the Qantas Group”.
“These new deals will open up a range of new opportunities for our retail and wholesale businesses.”

Qantas CEO Alan Joyce welcomed the benefits the commercial agreements would deliver to both the Qantas Group and Helloworld.
“These deals go a long way toward strengthening our relationship with Helloworld as their number one airline supplier,” he said.
“It also allows us to commence a range of joint marketing and sales activities as well as investigate new commercial opportunities that benefit our businesses.”
Meanwhile, Helloworld was today recognised for its contribution to the US tourism and travel industry.
The travel group was named one of the top tour operators and buyers of US travel product at IPW 2016 in partnership with Brand USA.
“These high-performing buyers exemplify the power of travel.”
Roger Dow, US Travel President and CEO
“With IPW being the event where so much of that business is conducted, it is the perfect occasion to honor and thank them.”
Helloworld Executive Director Cinzia Burnes said the recognition was valued.
“Helloworld is proud to be recognised as a global leader in promoting the US as an important destination.”
