The success of Qantas Holidays, Viva Holidays and Sunlover Holidays is dependent on their "biggest advocates", the Travel Agents.

The success of Qantas Holidays, Viva Holidays and Sunlover Holidays is dependent on their “biggest advocates”, the Travel Agents.

According to GM of Sales David Green, that’s what helped Qantas holidays receive the title of ‘Best Wholesaler – International Product’ at this year’s NTIAs.

“Our Agents are our biggest advocates and they also keep us in check! It’s their feedback that we use the help shape our business,” he said.

“We know there is more that we can do, there are so many opportunities for us to continue to improve and we will keep working on them.”

What does winning this award mean to you and the business?

Winning our two awards is a great honour to everyone in the business. For Sunlover Holidays to win the award back to back is a testament to our amazing teams, and the huge depth of Australian product we have available to our Agents is worth this recognition. For Qantas Holidays to win the Best Wholesaler for International Product it was especially nice given that we last won this award in 2010! We’ve been working very hard across both our brands to give our Agents the best possible products and rates, and we are getting there.

 

What was it do you think that helped you win this year?

The business has been going through significant change, and we are seeing great results that will continue to improve.We have some real positive momentum, some great successes and it was a real privilege to share those stories with the judges. Our success comes from our amazing, talented teams. We work as one, regardless of what function anyone operates in and we use our expertise and market intelligence to consistently find ways to improve.

Our Agents are our biggest advocates and they also keep us in check! It’s their feedback that we use the help shape our business. We know there is more that we can do, there are so many opportunities for us to continue to improve and we will keep working on them.

 

How do you think the year ahead is looking so far?

We’ve gotten off to a great start, so we are very happy! Europe is starting to come back now, the US continues to do grow, our Cruise business is smashing all records and we are all set for a very successful year. We won’t take anything for granted though! We will continue to listen to our Agents and adapt our business model to do the right thing.

 

Do you have any award winning tips you’d like to share to inspire other businesses to greatness?

Without our loyal partners we wouldn’t be where we are today, so staying true to our business plans and always listening to our customers is our number one aim. We are very fortunate to have the best teams, their passion for our business, their loyalty and their commitment to doing the very best every day is truly inspiring.

We’d also like to acknowledge the special achievements of Kim Knight, who was nominated for Best Sales Executive – Industry Supplier. We are very proud of Kim, as we are all our Business Development Executives. For Kim to get to the finals is a huge achievement in itself.
