Home-based agents under the Travel Counsellors umbrella should pull out the champers and celebrate a little after being named one ‘to watch’.
The huge nod came from The Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 Ones to Watch league table, which ranks Britain’s mid-market growth private companies with the biggest sales.
It’s the first time the global company has made the list and according to Managing Director, will make the group ‘stand out from the crowd’.

Travel Counsellors Managing Director, Steve Byrne.
“Being recognised as ‘Ones to Watch’ is yet another reason to believe our unique, home-working franchise-based support model really works.”
Steve Byrne, Travel Counsellors Managing Director
While the recognition came from the UK, it does encompass the company’s global operations including sales from Australia.
Over the last six months, the overall company and local team has reached a number of new records including a new best day of sales of $5.4 million on 16 January, up from $4.9 million the same day last year.
Additionally, in Australia alone, sales between January and June were up 14 percent year-on-year.
“This has been a phenomenal year for us so far in terms of sales and international growth, and we have no intention of slowing down.”
Steve Byrne, Travel Counsellors Managing Director
To maintain momentum, the team in Australia have started rolling out a series of new initiatives such as changes to Phenix, additional in-house TV programs that focus on providing support and mini-conferences.
Congratulations Travel Counsellors.
