Bangkok was a beauty and Adelaide was amazing, but Darwin will be the conference hundreds of TravelManagers leave with phones full of stunning sunsets and newfound inspiration.
In less than a week’s time, home-based consultants from around Australia will come together as ‘ONE’ (???? this year’s theme) in the Northern Territory’s capital for three days of motivational speeches, educational meetings and of course, drinks.
Held at the waterfront Vibe Hotel, delegates will enjoy many of the popular activities from conferences-past (welcoming party, charity events etc.) as well as new and creative activities designed to motivate consultants to succeed.
KarryOn has done some digging (and speculating) ahead of this year’s gathering in Darwin and expect personal travel managers will encounter:
Waterfront views, practically the whole time
The day portion of the conference will take place at the Vibe Hotel (waterfront view), while evening functions will include nights out at Pee Wee’s (by the beach) and Mindil Beach Sunset Market (on the beach).
Which of course means, unobstructed views of Darwin’s sunsets & sunrises
We expect a lot of Agents will be wide awake to capture those epics Darwin sunrises, which have been described as “better than Bali”.
There’s bound to be some royal treatment
NT Tourism is all about promoting its capital to the rest of Australia right now, so we have no doubt they’ll spoil this group of Aussie Agents with unique local experiences.
And incredible food
I spoke to a well travelled colleague who couldn’t be more excited for hundreds of consultants and suppliers to try the food at Mindil Beach Sunset, which she claims is “unbelievably good”.
Expect advancements in TravelManagers’ tech
It’s almost like an annual tradition for TravelManagers to announce tech upgrades at its conferences. Last year it was a whole new website, the year before it was an app launch, we can only imagine what’s next.
As well as the chance to give back
Some consultants have already started raising donations for this year’s charity event, which will go towards ‘Helping People Achieve’, a non-government and non-for-profit organisation that assists Territorians with physical and intellectual disabilities.

There’ll be some supplier time
Meet with cruise lines, chat to tour operators and perhaps even enter a few competitions.
There’ll be Gazal’s dance moves
TravelManagers, let’s start a betting pool – which song will head office perform to this year? My money is on ‘Despacito’, you?
And of course, laughs
It wouldn’t be a TravelManagers gathering without the laughs.
