Travel advisors! Qantas opens registrations for its NDC booking portal

Travel professionals can now sign up for direct access to Qantas’ New Distribution Capability (NDC) content after the airline opened registrations for the portal today.

Travel professionals can now sign up for direct access to Qantas’ New Distribution Capability (NDC) content after the airline opened registrations for the portal today.

Unveiled in December 2023, the portal enables agents who mightn’t access Qantas NDC content via a certified technology partner to shop, book and manage flights through the Qantas Distribution Platform (QDP).

Available for agents in more than 60 countries, the platform offers a wider range of products, features and capabilities only available through the NDC, as it aims to simplify customer bookings and improve accessibility for agencies.

The flying kangaroo says the new portal highlights its commitment to modernising how agents serve customers, including reducing domestic and trans-Tasman fares for trade partners.

The airline says it is also committed to expanding its network of certified technology partners, who are crucial in providing comprehensive Qantas NDC content. This ensures that a larger number of agency partners have the opportunity to utilise the QDP.

Agents can visit the Qantas Agency Connect website for more information and to register.

Upon completing the application process, most agents can expect access to the portal within seven to ten business days.

Earlier this month, Qantas announced the appointment of Kathryn Robertson to the role of Qantas Executive General Manager Global Sales and Distribution to lead the national carrier’s international and domestic sales teams.

In February, QF unveiled a new price guarantee of up to five days on bookings via its QDP to allow more time for advisors to complete their clients’ travel itineraries.
