Scenic has unveiled a new video showcasing the build of its second ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht, Scenic Eclipse II, which is scheduled to begin service in April 2023.

The video provides an overview of the progress to date, including the innovation and technology involved to build this state-of-the-art yacht.

The Scenic Eclipse II Discovery Yacht, which is nearly identical to the first Scenic Eclipse sister ship – will float out of its Rijeka shipyard in Croatia, later this month.

The vessel is being built by MKM Yachts, a global leader in ultra-luxury shipbuilding and a subsidiary of Scenic Group.

Scenic Eclipse II is scheduled to make its maiden sailing from Lisbon, Portugal in April 2023. Its inaugural season will include voyages in the Mediterranean, Scotland, the Americas, the Caribbean, Antarctica, and the Arctic.

In April 2024 the Discovery Yacht will sail from Newcastle, where Scenic was established 37 years ago, along the coastline of New South Wales and Queensland before a season in the Kimberley, and will also visit the South Pacific islands, Polynesia and Indonesia.

Enhancements have been made to the original Scenic Eclipse design, based on feedback from guests and crew which will be integrated into Scenic Eclipse II.

Scenic says guests can expect to see new features including the next-generation submarine, Scenic Neptune II, new experiences in the Senses Spa and a larger pool, outdoor area and Panorama Bar on Deck 10.

Anthony Laver, Group GM Sales & Marketing, Australasia said: “The addition of Scenic Eclipse II to the fleet continues our commitment to continuous innovation and bringing once-in-a-lifetime exploration to guests.

“The World’s First Discovery Yachts are unique in that they can handle extreme and diverse conditions, cruising smoothly from the pristine and icy waters of the Arctic and Antarctic polar regions to the warm waters of Australia, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, exploring ports and unique regions that larger vessels just cannot access.

“We are focused on setting the benchmark in the ultra-luxury cruise sector, by constantly refining the on-board experience and introducing exciting new destinations.”
