Thai Airways has announced it will resume its international service to 36 overseas routes from 31 October, including a Sydney flight that will take travellers directly to the beaches of Phuket.

Thai Airways has announced it will resume its international service to 36 overseas routes from 31 October, including a Sydney flight that will take travellers directly to the beaches of Phuket.

Thai Airways is set to start its international #ArrivalRevival from 31 October, by recommencing its service to 36 countries, including destinations in Europe, Asia and Australia.

The news comes in response to the Thai government’s decision to reopen the kingdom to tourists on 1 November.

THAI executive Chief Commercial Officer Nond Kalinta announced the airline’s decision on Thursday.

He said that in support of the Government’s policy to welcome international visitors to Thailand as of 1st November and in response to increasing demands for air travel on international routes, the airline has arranged and adjusted its flight schedules and offered full inflight services as per the latest COVID-19 control measures for its Winter Flight Programme during 31 October 2021 – 26 March 2022.

As of 17 November, Sydney- Bangkok flights will run daily.

But if you would rather skip the city and head straight to the beach, here’s the good news.

From 7 December 2021, three flights a week bound for Bangkok will make a stopover at Phuket, with the airline allowing travellers to book just the Sydney-Phuket leg.

These Sydney-Phuket-Bangkok flights will depart the NSW capital every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; and will return from Bangkok-Phuket every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Passengers flying from Sydney to Phuket and Bangkok will step aboard Thai’s Boeing 777-300ER, which boasts 42 Royal Silk business class seats and 306 standard economy seats.
