THAI Airways International has just announced the resumption of its Western Australian services, with daily flights between Perth and Bangkok set to recommence on 31 March 2024.

At the same time, THAI Airways also revealed that it will be adding a second daily service between Sydney and Bangkok starting 31 March 2024 (1 April ex-SYD).

The resumption of THAI’s Perth service means Western Australia and Thailand will be directly linked for the first time since the carrier suspended its WA services during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Operating four times per week, flight TG482 will depart Perth at 4.20pm on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving in Bangkok at 10.20pm. The return service, TG481 will depart BKK at 7.20am and touch down in PER at 3.05pm.

THAI will utilise its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft on the resumed route.

Doubling Sydney

Using its Airbus A350-900 aircraft, Thailand’s national carrier will also add a second daily service to Australia’s busiest airport, Sydney.

Flight TG472 will depart Sydney at 2.50pm and arrive in Bangkok at 9.10pm, while TG471 will leave BKK at 10.20pm and land in SYD at 10.20am (+1)

THAI’s new flights complement its current daily services from Sydney (TG475/476) and Melbourne (TG461/462 and TG465/466).

Global expansion

In addition to its increased Australian capacity, THAI Airways has announced the resumption of daily non-stop services to Milan (Italy) and Oslo (Norway), commencing 1 July 2024. From 31 March 2024, THAI will also recommence a daily Colombo (Sri Lanka) service and three times weekly Kochi (India) service.
