Intrepid Travel celebrates the trailblazing women in travel every day in latest campaign

Intrepid Travel extends its tribute to women in travel beyond International Women’s Day with an ongoing campaign that highlights all the intrepid females leading the way around the world and shaping the future of the industry.

The new ‘Wouldn’t be here without her‘ storytelling campaign shares the tales of women who created their own path in travel via a dedicated webpage on Intrepid’s website.

It comes as Intrepid reveals that 63 per cent of its travellers globally are female with solo female travel trending 14 per cent up year-on-year for the brand.

In addition, bookings for the B Corp’s dedicated Women’s Expeditions grew 46 per cent from 2023 to 2024 with a 120 per cent YOY increase in 2025 bookings.

From pioneering trip leaders to business owners, Intrepid Travel highlights the women who are breaking barriers and driving change in its new campaign.

These include Renu Sharma, one of the first female e-rickshaw drivers in Jaipur, India; Srishti Lama Tamang – one of few female trekking leaders in Nepal; and Aneeqa Ali, a Pakistani expedition leader and operator forging the way for women.

More than one-third (34%) of Intrepid’s 521 tour leaders are women and female leadership roles increased by 29 per cent YOY.

Intrepid tour leader and founder of travel company The Mad Hatters, Aneeqa Ali, is forging new paths for women in Pakistan.

Propelling its support for women and responsible tourism, Intrepid Travel has partnered with global transformational leadership initiative Homeward Bound to support and inspire women and non-binary people in STEMM.

The tour company also shared that 18 per cent of surveyed operational suppliers are majority female-owned, representing AUD$7.73M in spending.

Intrepid also works with the likes of Hellen Nkuraiya, founder of a school in Kenya that is working to protect the next generation of Maasai women from female genital mutilation (FGM) and Nora Belahcen Fitzgerald in Morocco, whose organisation equips women with the skills and confidence to enter the male-dominated workforce.
