New Australian rail operator Vintage Rail Journeys has a certifiable hit on their hands with the sold-out Elvis Special Tour, transporting fans of the King of Rock’n’Roll to the annual Parkes Elvis Festival on a four-day overnight train experience from 11 – 14 January 2024.

Teaming up with Railways Adventures, Vintage Rail Journeys’ Elvis Special Tour sold out quickly with fans eager to jump on board the all-inclusive four-day sleeper train to Central NSW, departing from Sydney’s Central Station.

Vintage Railways CEO Simon Mitchell said the rail tour is a unique way for Elvis lovers to get to the festival in Parkes, spending time on the fully restored former Southern Aurora train.

“Guests will enjoy slow rail travel, visiting places like Cootamundra and Temora and travelling over the inland rail route from Stockinbingal to Parkes.”

“We get guests to Parkes on Friday in the late afternoon just in time to enjoy the evening’s Elvis Festival events,” he added.

After experiencing the award-winning Parkes Elvis Festival over the weekend, which coincides with Elvis Presley’s birthday, travellers then board the train to return to Sydney via the Blue Mountains.

The Elvis Special Tour is one of two upcoming collaborations, which includes a Repco Bathurst 1000 Aurora tour to the Bathurst 1000 in October 2023.

Established in November 2020, Vintage Rail Journeys also conducts 12 tours a year with three itineraries visiting regional NSW.
