Effortless access to Europe

Austria is Europe’s heart, making it an idyllic starting point year-round for European adventures. With eight neighbouring countries, every village, town, and city in Austria not only has something incredible to reveal, but easy access to said neighbours.

Across this centuries-old country, your clients will be wowed by the abundant natural and cultural attractions. Austria is also only one-third of the size of Victoria, with a brilliant transport system, making it effortless to navigate.

Vienna’s imperial elegance is a drawcard, a melting pot of cultures for centuries. The city itself is already a museum, exhibiting the rich history of the Austro-Hungarian empire. Whether your clients love architecture, music, arts, food, and wine (or all five), they’ll feel right at home in Vienna.

Witnessing Salzburg and Innsbruck’s palaces and churches against pristine natural surroundings holds appeal, too. And between Austria’s major cities, your clients can explore sun-soaked vineyards, crystal-clear lakes, rugged peaks, and pocket-sized villages.

The top activities to entice? Summer hikes along well-marked mountain trails, scenic drives through the lake regions, of course, skiing at Austria’s famed Alpine resorts. The natural wonders are equal parts invigorating, rejuvenating, and jaw-dropping.

New in 2024

For the first time in the history of the European Capital of Culture, the award has gone to an Alpine area rather than a city! Namely, the rural Salzkammergut region, spanning the provinces of Upper Austria, Styria and SalzburgerLand.

Famous for its magnificent lakes – there are more than 75 – it’ll be clear to your clients why the region’s breathtaking mountain, lake, and forest scenery took out this award.

Bad Ischl, in collaboration with 22 other municipalities, has reimagined itself culturally, through the intersection of art, culture, business, and tourism.

In Upper Austria, especially Linz, they are gearing up to celebrate Bruckner Year. Marking the 200th birthday of Anton Bruckner, Austria is pulling out all the stops to honour this musical genius.

With events, concerts, and exhibitions to celebrate Bruckner’s life and music, it’s easy to find an event to include on your client’s itinerary.

In the Austria Resource Hub, we discovered Upper Austria’s concert series and we love it! Each concert is held in a historical venue that resonated with Bruckner’s own experiences. We can only imagine how moving it will be to sit in the very church where he served as an organist, listening to his music come to life!
