A well-planned itinerary allows your budget-conscious clients to experience Los Angeles without breaking the bank. Choose from ample free attractions, like scenic Griffith Park and the lively Venice Beach Boardwalk, plus affordable dining options, and hotels with value-add offerings.
While some consider LA a luxury destination, there are many ways to experience its highlights and attractions on a budget when you know where to go. This itinerary is ideal for your clients seeking a great value stay in the City of Angels.
As Los Angeles returns to business as usual after the January wildfires, now’s a great time to take advantage of the industry’s ‘welcome back’ rates.
Day 1

Touring Los Angeles on a budget is easy. After a 30-50 minute drive from LAX, settle into your hotel in Hollywood and explore LA’s legendary (and free) sites.
Find your favourite celebrity along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, discover the historic TCL Chinese Theatre, and window shop at Ovation Hollywood Mall before a must-try burger at ln-N-Out Hollywood.
For the perfect zero-cost nighttime experience, visit Griffith Observatory for its expansive views of the twinkling city skyline. Grab pizza to-go for a great-value dinner.
Day 2

Oversize pancakes at The Griddle Cafe provide fuel for the day ahead before visiting the historic Original Farmers Market and The Grove – two spots ideal for browsing and people-watching. At the market, buy local artisanal snacks, or visit the Trader Joe’s supermarket next door, for a Lake Hollywood Park picnic lunch.
Next, enjoy a self-guided hike to the Hollywood Sign. Not only is it iconic, but it’s free! Allow an hour to reach Los Angele’s most well-known landmark.
Day 3

With its permanent art collection and gorgeous grounds, the Getty Center impresses. Explore the free exhibits, including classics from Van Gogh, Rembrandt, and Monet.
While Rodeo Drive is known as a luxury destination, it’s free to window shop and potentially spot a celeb! For another only-in-LA experience, free tickets are available to many TV episode filmings. Shows like The Price is Right and Jimmy Kimmel Live! regularly need audience members. You can find more information on booking these tickets here.
End your day with dinner at Mel’s Diner, a classic American diner, followed by affordable drinks at Good Times at Davey Wayne’s.
Day 4

Check out and store your luggage before exploring Santa Monica and Venice Beach – two iconic beach neighbourhoods. Walk the boardwalk and Santa Monica Pier or, if budget allows, rent a bike or ride the pier rollercoaster.
Between Venice and Santa Monica, explore Ocean Park for its hip stores and affordable eats, including tacos, ramen, and – a local favourite – the Japanese rice balls at Sunny Blue.
Return to your hotel to collect your luggage before bidding Los Angeles farewell at LAX. Well done on mastering the city on a budget!
