Foodies, get around Dubai’s best spots to eat when you stopover

Pleasantly surprised (emphasis on the ‘surprised’), we have found that Dubai is now amongst Brick Lane, Brooklyn, Berlin and Brunswick Street as one of the coolest places to find a bite to eat.

Pleasantly surprised (emphasis on the ‘surprised’), we have found that Dubai is now amongst Brick Lane, Brooklyn, Berlin and Brunswick Street as one of the coolest places to find a bite to eat.

Hipsters are being delightfully shocked at the high quality of brunch and baristas (and beards), so we’ve tracked down the best places to check out when stopping over.

1. Cereal Killer Café

We know, the LAST thing you would expect! The two brothers behind East London’s Cereal Killer Café are soon to be in Dubai. And not just for a holiday.

The most notorious UK hipster jaunt serves over 120 cereals, from childhood faves to bizarre foreign finds. Cereal becomes art and the next most acceptable form of brunch, how can you say no?

2. The Black Lion

East London inspo strikes again, but this time with a gastro pub.

Right down to the Brick Lane salt beef sandwich, jam jar cocktails, weekend roasts and DJs to feed the frenzy.

Their Freakshakes are also one to behold, bringing all the boys to the yard.

3. Tom & Serg

Missing home? Tom & Serg are bringing a slice of Melbourne’s brunch and café culture to Dubai’s industrial landscape, the Al Quoz Art District.

Favourites include the homemade granola, poached eggs and the notorious smashed avo on toast option. All served with exposed brickwork, just like any good flat white should be.

4. Food Trucks

Dubai is following in the footsteps of New York, London and Melbourne alike to feed the crowds through a convoy of aluminium caravans! The food truck revolution has taken over but be sure to check Instagram or Facebook to secure the location as most move around.
SALT on Kite Beach serves up delish gourmet Wagyu burgers, sliders and laid-back beachside beats.

Toasted is starting a grilled cheese revolution on the streets of Dubai and serves grilled sandwiches, hot dogs and other cheese-based products likely to make lactose-intolerants’ stomachs churn.

Homegrown fusion street food from Goa can be found at GoBai. Delicious flavours and ethical at the same time!

5. Beach Caneen

Bit of a tease since this place is only around during the Dubai Food Festival (Feb-Mar), but if you do happen to be there at the time, Beach Canteen hosts pop –ups street food, DJs and general beachside awesomeness for over two weeks.
