InterContinental Sydney is set to welcome guests with stylishly designed guestrooms, enhanced public spaces and two new bars when the iconic heritage hotel shares its upgraded façade and new-look interiors with the public from September 2022.

The luxury 5-star hotel, which occupies the former 1851 Treasury Building on the doorstep of Sydney Royal Botanic Garden and Circular Quay, has undergone an extensive $110 million renovation since 2020 and remained open to guests throughout the redesign with limited access to public spaces.

Part of IHG Hotels & Resorts and owned by the Mulpha Group, InterContinental Sydney contains 509 rooms and suites with public areas and two new bars reimagined by local architects Woods Bagot.

A new lobby bar will deliver an immersive experience with a bold Australian menu and creative beverage concepts, while the Level 32 rooftop space will house a signature bar and outdoor terrace with uninterrupted views across Sydney’s skyline available for the first time to Sydney locals and guests.

The hotel’s generous guestrooms are inspired by the surrounding landscape and incorporate quintessentially Australian elements of water, sand, wood and sky to create a relaxing environment.
