Both of Australia’s major airlines have domestic airfare deals on now with Qantas launching an Australia-wide sale on most routes and Virgin Australia partnering with Tourism Tasmania for sale fares to Hobart and Launceston for a limited time.
QF has discounted one million seats across select domestic routes from AUD$109 one-way in Economy, including more than 34 routes for under $150. Domestic business sale fares start from $439 one-way.
One-way economy sale fares include Launceston-Melbourne from $109, Adelaide-Kangaroo Island from $139 and Hamilton Island-Sydney routes from $199.
Sale offers include flights from Coffs Harbour to Melbourne and Melbourne to Hobart on the recently unveiled new QantasLink Airbus A220 aircraft later this year.
The week-long QF Australia Red Tail Sale is on until 11 March 2024 for select travel dates between April and mid-December 2024.
Shoring up its local ties, Qantas also announced an enhanced partnership with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation as part of its newly launched Nature Action Plan, outlining the national carrier’s commitment to address nature and biodiversity loss.
Qantas will pledge AUD$10 million across 10 years to support scientists, Traditional Owners and local tourism operators restoring corals across the Great Barrier Reef and other Australian reefs.
Meanwhile, VA’s special Tasmania Sale has thousands of discounted fares available from five major Australian cities to Launceston and Hobart until 8 March 2024.
Fares start from AUD$39 one-way for select travel dates between 30 April and 12 December 2024.
One-way sale fares include Melbourne-Launceston from $39, Sydney-Hobart from $65 and Adelaide-Hobart routes from $85.
