In the wake of recent severe weather events, Tourism and Events Queensland’s latest campaign aims to boost the Sunshine State’s visitor economy with more than 500 statewide travel deals on accommodation, experiences, attractions and much more.
It might surprise some Aussie and Kiwi travellers to know that Queensland is a huge state and weather events that affect some regions do not impact other tourist areas.
With that in mind, the TEQ Unmissable Holiday Deals campaign will run from 5 February to 31 March 2024 to support regions and drive visitation in the short term.
TEQ will partner with Air New Zealand, Webjet, Jetstar, Wotif, Helloworld, House of Travel, Bonza, Luxury Escapes and My Queensland to offer compelling, affordable holiday deals on airfares, packages and hotels to drive bookings.
There’s great value across the state with discounted stays, money-off experiences, ‘kids stay and eat free’ offers and loads more added throughout the campaign.
Top deals include a week in the Whitsundays for $999, a two-for-one offer with Queensland Rail and 30 per cent off Gold Coast Aqua super passes.
Boosting Queensland’s visitor economy
This campaign is the latest in a series launched this year, driving short-term visitation to the regions and supporting tourism jobs statewide.
Previous campaigns include sales with Qantas and Jetstar and the sold-out GC SummerFUNds and Cairns Tropical Dollars initiatives in partnership with Big Red Group.
Big Red Group Co-Founder & CEO David Anderson said they are proud to once again use the Experience Oz tech platform to support tourism recovery through the Cairns Tropical Dollars initiative.
“With 2,500 x $100 vouchers available to North Queensland residents, these experiences will be available to a broad audience and we’re confident Australians will be keen to show their support for the local experience economy,” he said.
TEQ CEO Patricia O’Callaghan said: “With more than 500 Queensland tourism experiences and accommodation deals on offer, we want to make sure everyone can experience a Queensland holiday.”
“Our industry needs bookings after a tough start to the year so this campaign will help convert that dreaming into a real booking.”
