Could watching Game of Thrones help you sell more travel?

Game of Thrones has finally returned for series 5 and it’s looking like another epic journey of power, lust and blood ‘n’ gore amongst some truly stunning locations.

But whilst winter may be coming, have you thought for a minute about how watching the HBO hit show could maybe help you sell more travel?

All of the Game of Thrones destinations are now showing off their charms as brazenly as Daenerys Targaryen (Aka Khaleesi) likes to do in the series, with all manner of tours on offer in an effort to get fans to embark on a pilgrimage and experience the series locations for themselves.

So with a bit of research it should’t be too hard to source some great product for your customers to go off and enjoy too. And given all the locations are in Europe, it’s also going to end being a big ticket item.

Another big reason to take note of the coming series. Timing and relevance is everything.

This great Game of Thrones Vacation Planner for example will help you digitally map out the whole trip for you (or your customers).

Planning your own Game of Thrones adventure has never been so easy

So now you too can follow in grubby Arya Stark’s footsteps and book your own flights to Winterfell. Let’s face it, flying will be a much more pleasant way to get there than the gruelling hike she’s had to endure.

Some of your customers may want to even re-live favourite moments whilst they’re there. Though perhaps it wouldn’t be advisable to re-enact many of them for safety and legal reasons.

Though the photos would be fun.

They’re all gorgeous spots in their own rights and locations that have now been elevated to epic status.

So why not bring up Game of Thrones in your conversations with customers. If nothing else it’ll be an ice breaker and who knows where it could end up.

Just remember to point out the re-enacting bit. For your customers own sakes.
