Taxi Trails launched by Taxi Stockholm earlier this year, is a new type of tourist guide based on GPS-data from the 8 million trips made in the city every year, enabling you to see where the locals really go.
The website, created by Swedish cab company Taxi Stockholm is using data from local cab journeys to show tourists the most poplar destinations in Stockholm. The website is displaying an online map with the top destinations visited by the city’s residents marked as brightly-coloured hotspots.

Spying on locals to find the best bars, restaurants and stores is not a new phenomena but Taxi Trails will take your spying to a new level by enabling tourists to view the most popular places over a specific time period, check out where people from certain areas of the city travel to, and also book their cabs from. In addition the website provides information on bars, restaurants, stores and attractions, with contact details and reviews sourced from Google Maps – bliss!
