&Beyond will open Suyian Homestead, a five-suite private safari home on the exclusive Suyian Conservancy in Kenya’s wild north in June 2027.

The property follows the earlier opening of Suyian Lodge and marks a deliberate shift from staying as a guest to taking over an entire home in the bush.

The 17,806-hectare conservancy is owned by the Suyian Conservancy Trust and managed under a Kenya Wildlife Service-approved plan with oversight from conservation NGO Space for Giants.

&Beyond is the only tourism operator on the land, part of a wider privately managed conservation region within the Laikipia-Ewaso ecosystem.

“This was never about building another place to visit,” says andBeyond managing director, East Africa lodges, Jane Braack.

“Suyian Homestead expands our East African portfolio into a deeply personal, residential expression of safari living.

“It’s about creating a home in the wild where far-reaching views invite people to slow down and spend time together differently.”

The suites and design

The sole-use home sleeps up to 11 guests across five suites and comes with a dedicated team of 13 staff, two private guides and two six-seater 4×4 safari vehicles.

Around 560 square metres of guest space runs through shared living rooms, an open kitchen, long dining tables, shaded terraces, an infinity pool and multiple al fresco dining areas. It sits roughly 10 minutes from Suyian Lodge, whose selected facilities guests can also use.

The building takes its design cues from the surrounding granite kopjes, with interiors pairing plaster, reclaimed timber, stone and bronze with Kenyan-crafted furniture, Samburu artefacts and beadwork.

Suyian Conservancy is home to 55 mammal species, including Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, African wild dog and the elusive black leopard, alongside more than 260 bird species.

Beyond private game drives and guided walks, groups can add camel and horseback safaris, catch-and-release fishing, scenic helicopter flights and cattle ranching experiences.

Around 80 per cent of the property’s energy is set to come from solar power, supported by borehole water and rainwater harvesting, with dining ingredients sourced within a 50-kilometre radius.
