Conservationist, philanthropist, artist and renowned luxury hotel designer, Bill Bensley has launched a series of art exhibitions at Four Seasons Bangkok with 100 per cent of proceeds going towards conservation efforts.
Bill Bensley is the creative genius behind more than 200 resorts and palaces around the globe, but he’s increasingly becoming known for his work as a passionate philanthropist and conservationist.
Through the Shinta Mani Foundation, he has provided hundreds of families with clean drinking water, medical visits, and hospitality training to underprivileged children.
At luxury tented camp Shinta Mani Wild in Cambodia, Bensley also hires a wildlife alliance responsible for catching poachers and stopping illegal logging.
His private army carry AK-47s 24/7 and are responsible for two million hectares of Cardamon Forest.
“Shinta Mani occupies 10,000 hectares and so we work hand in hand with the Wildlife Alliance to try to slow down the poaching and illegal logging.”
At Capella Ubud in Bali, he changed the project from 120 rooms that would have obliterated the forest into a 23-tent camp, and at InterContinental Danang in Vietnam he created a permanent expansive ‘green lung’ of native wilderness.
While at InterContinental Khao Yai Resort in Thailand, upcycled train carriages are used for luxury accommodation, the spa and bar, which were previously rotting in the jungle.
Bensley’s passion for art, has now seen him partner with other global artists to hold three exhibitions at Four Seasons Hotel’s Art Space by MOCA Bangkok between 10 January and 20 April 2025, with all proceeds going towards conservation efforts.
Bensley says, “Art has become another of my greatest passions, and I’m absolutely thrilled about my upcoming rotating art exhibition”.
“Each piece reflects a chapter of my journey, and the beauty I see in the world around me. What makes this exhibition truly special is its dynamic nature. It’s ever-changing, evolving with new themes and ideas to keep it fresh and inspiring for every visitor.
“I want this space to be a sanctuary for creativity and connection, a place where art lovers and curious minds can gather to celebrate the power of imagination. It’s been a dream to bring this project to life, and I hope it resonates as deeply with others as it has with me in creating it.”
Four Seasons Regional Vice President and General Manager, Lubosh Barta says it’s thrilled to be hosting the exhibitions.
“Bill’s creativity and heart are unmatched, with each collection not only inspiring but making a real impact – from supporting education to preserving the Cardamom Rainforest. It’s an honour to showcase his work and be part of this meaningful journey.”
New paintings by Bensley
Bensley’s first exhibition “New Paintings by Bill Bensley” which runs from 10 – 30 January, is inspired by his recent travels.
All proceeds from the sale of his art will go towards education for deaf children in Luang Prabang, and to assist 36 underprivileged young adults in Siem Reap, Cambodia so they can attend the Shinta Mani Hospitality School Class of 2025.
Ring of Fire
“The Ring of Fire” runs from 31 January to 27th February and features Bensley’s fascination with fire, lightning, and volcanos.
For this, Bensley drew inspiration from natural gas fires in Uzbekistan, and active volcanos in Japan, Mongolia, Korea, and Indonesia.
Sales from this exhibition will go towards milk for infants, clean water, toilets, and housing for underprivileged families in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Call of the Cardamons
Call of the Cardamoms runs from 28 February to 20 April and celebrates the work of global artists and artisans who’ve joined forces with Bill to highlight the endangered animals of the Cardamom Rainforest in Cambodia.
All of the proceeds will support the preservation, protection, and conservation of the Cardamom Rainforests.
