Golden Eagle’s festive collection is a chance to explore Europe without the heat or crowds, through cities like Vienna and Prague, with departure cities in Budapest or Munich.

Off-train excursions include Schonbrunn Palace, Christmas markets, a private classical concert, or a New Year gala celebration in Vienna.

The all-inclusive experience includes chef-prepared meals using ingredients from local markets.

Golden Eagle Australian Business Development Manager, Megan Bardsley says, “We are seeing more Australian guests choose to travel by luxury train for special milestone celebrations including birthdays, anniversaries and family get-togethers.

The eight-day journey begins at Four Seasons Gresham Palace and weaves through the snow-capped peaks of the Austrian Alps.

The trip includes a horse-drawn ‘fiaker’ carriage ride along Vienna’s grand boulevard, a tour of the UNESCO Heritage-listed DomQuartier, in the heart of Salzburg, Munich’s centuries-old Marienplatz Christmas Market, and a tasting session of the traditional Pirker gingerbread in front of St Stephen’s Cathedral.

  • Christmas Markets of Central Europe (Munich to Budapest)

Begin your eight-day journey in Munich with two nights at the five-star Bayerischer Hof.

Visit the Christmas market at Salzburg in the northern foothills of the Alps, walk along the Getreidegasse, renowned as the birthplace of Mozart and enjoy a private concert featuring the Vienna Supreme Orchestra. The trip ends with two nights at the Four Seasons Gresham Palace.
