The Linnaeus Collection has set new standards in luxury holiday accommodation in the historic, award-winning village of Berry on the NSW South Coast.

Less than a two-hour drive from Sydney, you’ll find seven new properties, each distinct in its offering, but all created with an ethos to ensure guests reconnect with their loved ones and nature.

Linnaeus Farm was the first to open and is set on 3.5 hectares of lush gardens and has five bedrooms and expansive 360-degree views of the countryside and Saddleback Mountain.

It has a resort-style swimming pool, fantasy tree house with a pirate’s walk, a long, twisty slide and an adventure playground. There’s a petanque court for bocce, a stone fire pit, a trellised olive grove and edible garden, orchard, and timber lake house that hovers over the pond.

Multigen, couples or families are all catered for at The Linnaeus Collection

Far Meadow Cottage, is about a five-minute drive from Berry and has six bedrooms, four bathrooms, a swimming pool with sun lounges, chicken coop and edible gardens.

The property also has a rustic, ivy-clad, fully furnished commercial space that will operate as a restaurant four days a week from July.

Maple on Albert and Maple on Edward both have four bedrooms (each has its own ensuite), fireplaces and plunge pools.

And Rubus (which opens in June) are three contemporary terrace homes set one street back from the main street of Berry. Each has four bedrooms and five bathrooms and heated plunge pools.

Guests will need to pre-arrange catering, or stop off in Berry on the way in and fill up on local, seasonal gourmet produce.

The inspiration for The Linnaeus Collection

Founder Peter Yannopoulos says the collection was inspired by renowned Swedish botanist, Carl Linnaeus who bought multiple properties to enjoy with his family while continuing to study nature from around the world.

He says he too wanted to create spaces so people can “reconnect with themselves, each other and nature”.

“It’s a passion project for us and we’re driven not only by the need to deliver the finest quality in the provision of a luxury home away from home getaway, but by the legacy of the collection.

“It’s about connecting guests with nature and a slower, calmer travel experience.”

Rates at Linnaeus Farm start from around $3,900 for two nights.
