Luxury boutique hotel Melbourne Place is set to open its doors in the ‘Paris end’ of Melbourne’s CBD in a matter of weeks.
The new-build 14-storey, 191-room hotel on Russell Street, will have three eateries and an event space for 250 with an open-air terrace.
Rooms vary from the ‘Everyday’, to slightly bigger ‘Urban’ rooms, suites and a Penthouse suite that has a 12-seater dining space, butler’s pantry and baby grand piano.
The property will be a drawcard for foodies with two venues by Sydney restaurateurs, Ross and Sunny Lusted – the ground floor dining room and basement bar.
While Hatted Young Chef of the Year, Nick Deligiannis has been brought on to head the rooftop restaurant, Mid Air, as well as menus for events and in-room dining.
Deligiannis says his menu will be “inspired by my Mediterranean background”.
Melbourne Place, Executive General Manager, Tracy Atherton, says Melbourne Place will redefine the ‘Paris end’ precinct of Melbourne.
“Neighbouring the city’s best restaurants, bars, nightlife and retail, it will be the place to be, providing guests with a unique lifestyle and cultural experience situated among the best offerings in the city. It is the ultimate location to experience the pinnacle of Melbourne’s life and spirit.”
