It’s official, Marriott International has just confirmed that Courtyard by Marriott West Melbourne is on its way, with the 150-room new-build expected to open in 2021.
The hotel will be built at 50 Batman Street, on the edge of Melbourne’s buzzing central business district in West Melbourne, a 20-minute drive from Melbourne Airport.
Nearby attractions include Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre, Etihad Stadium, and Queen Victoria Market and Federation Square.
True to the brand, Courtyard West Melbourne will feature guestrooms that combine comfort with functionality, creating a modern environment suitable for working or relaxing.
The hotel will also offer a signature restaurant with outdoor seating, a grab and go outlet, and communal public spaces.
Guests will have access to a range of amenities, including an outdoor, heated swimming pool and a 24-hour fitness center with sauna and steam rooms.
Meeting and event organisers will be able to take advantage of 250 square metres of flexible meeting space designed to welcome groups of all sizes.
Area Vice President, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific, Marriott International Sean Hunt said Marriott International was growing quickly in Australia, where they already operate 19 hotels and have a further 19 in the pipeline.
“Demand is on the rise for modern yet affordable accommodations that appeal to ambitious and enterprising guests, so we’re delighted we’ve found the right site to debut the Courtyard by Marriott brand in the Melbourne market,” he said.
