There’s no shortage of wacky accommodation concepts around the world, and it’s no competition but would you rather sleep at a Dog Park Inn or have Mr Monopoly as your concierge for a night?
We all know the answer to that one, and it’s something along the lines of: hey doggy hotel, how about you do not pass go and do not collect $200.
Just kidding!
But seriously, Melbourne is home to Australia’s first real-life Monopoly Hotel and it’s already had its first two guests.
The unique property is literally the tiniest hotel in the world, measuring at just 2.4m x 3m and is shaped like the little Monopoly Hotel pieces and painted in the same bright red.
Oh, and it has a Mr Monopoly concierge.
Cool right?
Of course, the hotel is total promo for the McDonald’s Monopoly Game, which returned this year with the addition of a new interactive game app as well as 30 million prizes up for grabs.
According to Laura Paton and Emma Kendrick, who were the first people in the country to wake up in the pop-up property, it may be a tiny hotel but it’s definitely “one of the most memorable”.
“We’re such big fans of Macca’s and Monopoly and we certainly feel like we’ve been given the V.I.P. treatment with the exclusive stay and of course, being the first people in the country to play – it’s been unreal!”
Laura Paton, Maccas enthusiast
For your chance to win a night at the hotel, you’ll obviously have to go out and buy some McDonalds, collect those Monopoly pieces and have a whole lot of luck.
So good luck!
