More than 6,000 loyalty club members of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) group, belonging to the INVITED program, have voted in a survey to reveal their 10 most coveted city destinations for the coming year.
The survey of luxury travellers revealed that while Europe remains a popular choice, some destinations further afield have also made the cut.
SLH, established more than 30 years ago, is a collection of more than 540 boutique hotels in over 90 countries.
Small Luxury Hotels of the World’s Senior VP Asia Pacific, Mark Wong, predicts that sustainability, culinary and wellness will continue to be significant areas of interest for luxury travellers in 2024.
“These trends reflect a broader global consciousness about environmental issues, personal well-being and a heightened desire to create meaningful travel experiences,” said Mark.
“As these trends continue to evolve, we’re seeing the travel industry adapt to meet the changing preferences of the consumer, offering an increasingly diverse range of sustainable, culinary and wellness focused experiences that are very much connected to place and the surrounding community.”
“Connecting people with the culture and traditions of the destination as well as respecting the environment through slower, farm to table approaches will be something we’ll see a lot more of this year. We’ll also see wellness experiences going beyond the spa and heading into nature, including forest bathing, a meditative form of hiking among trees, and even wild swimming.”
