The playful, boutique hotel brand, The Standard is about to open the doors on its debut property in Singapore.
Anything but ‘standard’, this stylish, luxury hotel brand likes to shake things up, and its newest property is no exception.
Sitting on the prestigious Orange Grove Road, minutes from the UNESCO Heritage-listed Botanic Gardens, and the tree-lined bustling Orchard Road boulevard, the 143-room property (opening on 28th November 2024) has taken its design cues from the vision of Singapore as a “City in a Garden”.
Created by the in-house design team, in collaboration with Ministry of Design, each room has floor-to-ceiling windows with pool views.
Spanning the first and second floors, it also has its own ‘gardens’ featuring art installations by local artists.
Hyatt Lifestyle Group President and Creative Director, Amar Lalvani says, “We couldn’t be more excited to open in Singapore”.
“The city is going through an incredibly dynamic period and is emerging into an important global commercial, cultural and creative hub. Perfect for The Standard. We look forward to welcoming guests, as well as the local community, to explore our new urban oasis and its hidden treasures.”
Wining and dining
Japanese-inspired Kaya restaurant has an “inventive cocktail program” with dishes like nigiri, maki rolls and robatayaki accompanied by an extensive sake and whisky list.
Adjacent to the restaurant, the Kaya Bar brings the element of nightlife for which The Standard is renowned.
While on the ground floor sits Café Standard, with an all-day menu boasting American fare paired with in a streetside bistro setting.
But the place to be is ‘The Pool’ hidden away in a secret garden where guests can kick back with ceviche, tacos, and cocktails.
Perfect for sun-soaked afternoons, and come sundown, the energy picks up with low-key beats in true ‘The Standard’ style.
