With a flight time of under just 10 hours, Hawaii is becoming an increasingly popular holiday destination for young families. Off tyne back of this success, Hawaii Tourism has release a dedicated Hawai‘i family guide available to download online.

The new guide offers an overview of the most popular Hawaiian Islands of O‘ahu, Kaua‘i, Maui and Hawai‘i Island (Big Island), with suggestions for free and inexpensive family activities along with the best family accommodation options and top tips for family dining.

The culture of Hawai‘i is very family-friendly. “Keiki” is the Hawaiian word for “children” and many hotels and resorts will offer keiki programs that may include lei making, ukulele playing and hula lessons. In Hawai‘i, fun for your keiki is not hard to find no matter which island you visit.

The guide includes maps and important need to know information on getting there, getting around the islands, weather and more.

Ashlee Galea, Country Manager Australia, Hawai‘i Tourism Oceania said “Family holidays to Hawai‘i are no longer just the typical family unit. They can be multi-generational including grandparents, take the form of a family reunion or even include extended family members for the celebration of milestone occasions. Family travellers look for holidays that feature options that are flexible and appeal to both children and adults and seek experiences that will create lifelong memories together. Whether it’s swimming with the Hawaiian green sea turtles, snorkelling with manta rays, exploring an active volcano or hiking through lush rainforest, the Hawaiian Islands are a truly amazing destination that offers so much more for your next family holiday.”
