The doors have officially swung open to Dubai's newest hotel, offering some 328 new beds in the growing tourist destination.

The doors have officially swung open to Dubai’s newest hotel, offering some 328 new beds in the growing tourist destination.

 

InterContinental Dubai Marina opened this week as part of the Bay Central development – a new hub located in the heart of Dubai Marina.

The property is conveniently located within walking distance of public transport as well as a number of tourist attractions including Jumeirah Beach Road and The Walk on JBR.

It has 132 hotel rooms and 196 fully services residential suites and offers views of the city while being surrounding by what InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) describes as ‘cutting edge design and decor’.

Inside, the hotel is home to nine restaurants, lounges and bars including YNot, a wine and tapas bar; Accents, a restaurant and deli serving up dishes from around the globe; as well as Ginter a gin bar with one of Dubai’s largest gin collections, Gallery Lounge and Urban Shisha Lounge.

The jewel in the hotel’s crown will be Marina Social restaurant, which is scheduled to open in September this year.

Dishes at the restaurant are created by British, Michelin-starred chef, Jason Atherton.

The restaurant will also include an exclusive bar, The Social Room, with mixologists creating unique cocktails using an eclectic range of spirits from around the world, and will be host to one of the largest whiskey collections in the city.

Other features of the restaurant include the outdoor swimming pool with panoramic marina views; male and female spas; gym facilities; and nine meeting rooms.

IHG’s Chief Operating Officer for India, Middle East and Africa, said the property will help accommodate travellers with varying needs in the rapidly growing tourism market.

InterContinental Dubai Marina is the fourth InterContinental property in the UAE after the iconic InterContinental Abu Dhabi and InterContinental Dubai Festival City, and InterContinental Residence Suites Dubai Festival City.
