Starwood Hotels and Resort has announced it is moving into South Australia, with its first hotel in Adelaide.

In addition to being the group’s first property in South Australia, it will be Starwood’s third Aloft branded hotel in Australia – following the recent announcement of Aloft Sydney Pitt Street, which is slated to open next year; and Aloft Perth Rivervale opening in 2017.

Signed with local developer, Sturt Land Pty Ltd, Aloft Adelaide is expected to open early 2018 to add around 200 extra beds in the city.

There will also be around 500 square metres of flexible meeting space – making it ideal for large, business and intimate gatherings.

Also inside, guests can spend time at Aloft’s signature W XYZSM bar, which acts as a buzzing, social spot for guests to sip on a cocktail while enjoying the live music acts .

Alternative dining options include Re:fuel, a grab and go option.

Aloft keyless

Guests will be able to access their rooms via a mobile.

As well as a social and vibrant environment, the hotel will also be tech-friendly, and among the first in the Australian market to showcase Starwood’s recently announced SPG Keyless – a keyless entry allowing guests to use their smart phones as keys.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Pacific Regional Vice President Sean Hunt said Adelaide was selected as the third destination for the Aloft brand because of its potential to grow as a business and leisure destination.

Meanwhile, in February this year the ‘City of Churches’ welcomed the opening of a new five-star boutique hotel, Mayfair Hotel.
