A new car, it’s something you hope and pray you’ll win one day (that and an all-expenses paid 365-day holiday), but you never do.
Except Celeste Burk. No, Celeste Burk from Corporate Traveller is one of the few people in this world that can say she won a brand new car.
But it’s not just any car guys, it’s a brand new Peugeot 208.
In case you don’t steer too close to the automobile world (like myself), those vehicles are not cheap. They’re like $30,000 EACH.
So the lovely North Sydney-based consultant scored herself one of those last night at AccorHotels’ annual (and highly anticipated) Showcase Extravaganza.
Some 800 hopefuls attended this year’s event held at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth’s Grand Ballroom.
But it was Celeste, whose face filled with disbelief when she realised she was the winner of the vehicle and that she’d be driving the car out of the Sofitel that evening.
Of course, she wasn’t the only winner of the night. AccorHotels also gave away accommodation and travel prizes like a trip to Hong Kong stay at The Pullman Park Lane and Novotel Nathan Road Kowloon, which was won by Erin O’Shannessy from American Express Meeting and Events.
For the rest of the attendees, they had the opportunity to chat to over 100 AccorHotels’ sales and marketing executives.
AccorHotels Asia Pacific Chairman & CEO Michael Issenberg and AccorHotels Chief Operating Officer Pacific Simon McGrath were quizzed by host of ABC’s Insiders TV program Barrie Cassidy, during which they offered insight into the group’s FRHI acquisition, new developments, products and key industry topics.
And for the first time, the event showcased the group’s newest acquisition brands Fairmont, Raffles, Swissotel and One Fine Stay to industry clients and partners.
