Malaysia Airlines has today launched its enhanced Economy Class flexible fare options (Lite, Basic & Flex), in Australia and New Zealand.
The new Economy branded fares allow passengers to enjoy premium travel and the full-service carrier experience, with three unique fare options (Lite, Basic & Flex) that can be chosen based on their nature of travel, preference, and needs.
Whether it’s just a quick day trip or an extended trip with extra baggage, customers can decide what they want rather than simply buy what an airline offers, but they will still enjoy the privileges and services that Malaysia Airlines offers onboard across all fares, such as cabin baggage of up to 7kg, complimentary meals, and refreshments as well as access to the specially curated Malaysia Airlines in- flight-entertainment system.
“With the world slowly recovering from the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic, and as our passengers begin to travel again, Malaysia Airlines seeks to take them to the skies without the burden of worry, with a truly hassle-free experience.”
Captain Izham Ismail, Malaysia Airlines Group Chief Executive Officer
The new fares

These new fares will allow greater personalisation for the airline’s passengers, balancing a simple and intuitive booking experience, alongside unforgettable Malaysian Hospitality onboard and on the ground, creating a stress-free and seamless travel experience.
This reaffirms Malaysia’s commitment to putting its passengers first, especially in these uncertain times where passengers may be apprehensive to travel. With this, the airline hopes to “instill a sense of confidence and trust in them to Fly Malaysia once again.”
“Putting their needs as a priority, we took the time to listen and gain invaluable insight to our passengers through extensive feedback, and from there we redesigned, redefined and are proud to introduce our enhanced fare family, providing our dear customers with a comprehensive product that caters to their every need, no matter the nature of travels,”
Captain Izham Ismail, Malaysia Airlines Group Chief Executive Officer
The introduction of the new branded fare family will be effective for bookings made in economy class from today, 22nd of June 2020 onwards. Bookings made prior will remain unchanged.
