Singapore has announced that fully vaccinated Australians will be able to once again enter the country quarantine-free from November 8.
Travel to Singapore is back! As of November 8, fully-vaccinated Australian citizens will be able to travel quarantine free to the Asian hub, following Australia’s international border reopening on November 1.
The island nation last week opened up green lanes for vaccinated arrivals from Canada, Denmark, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Britain and the United States.
PM Scott Morrison had also said last week that the federal government was in the final stages of a deal with Singapore to replicate two-way travel without restrictions similar to New Zealand.
“We anticipate that being able to be achieved within the next week or so as we would open up to more visa class holders coming out of Singapore,” he had told reporters at Sydney Airport.
Oliver Chong, Executive Director of Singapore Tourism Board Oceania said “We’re extremely thrilled with the resumption of travel between Australia and Singapore. We know Aussies are avid travellers and can’t wait to travel overseas, so we hope this will encourage them to make plans to visit Singapore as soon as they can.
“Australia has always been a close and long-standing trade and tourism partner for Singapore. We are confident that this Vaccinated Travel Lane will be warmly welcomed by everyone as we continue to move towards a safe and calibrated reopening of our borders,” he said
To be able to enter Singapore from Australia, travellers will need to take two tests: a pre-departure test within 48 hours before departing plus a test on arrival at Changi Airport.
Travellers must self-isolate until their test result is confirmed as negative while children under the age of two years will not need to have the PCR test.
Singapore Airlines, Scoot and Qantas have all updated their schedules in preparation for travel being allowed back to Singapore.
