Cheeky Iceland has created a spoof ad of Facebook head honcho Mark Zuckerberg’s recent Metaverse announcement and it’s hilarious. Ready for a trip to the Icelandverse? We’ll see you in the Blue Lagoon.
Iceland Tourism’s Inspired by Iceland has created a hilarious parody video of Mark Zuckerberg’s recent Facebook Metaverse announcement.
The 2.23-minute video features body double (and chief Visionary officer) Zack Mossbergsson standing in for the Zuck and taking us on a slightly awkward yet quirky tour of his own stunning Icelandverse.
Introducing the video, Mossbergsson tells us how he wants to take on a “revolutionary approach on how to connect our world, without being super weird.”
It’s “enhanced actual reality without silly-looking headsets,” he says with a smirk.
He goes on to say, “Some said It’s not possible”.
But is it?

“We are really easy going,” says Mossbergsson.
This ad is just brilliant and, not surprisingly, has already gone viral with almost 1 million views notched up already.
But what would Zuck say we wonder?
Who cares. We’ll take a trip to Iceland over the Metaverse any day of the week after watching this.
The Icelandverse ad follows a similar Iceland Tourism quirky campaign called ‘Let it out’ last year urging people to scream their frustrations in audio form. Visitors to the campaign microsite could record their scream which was then boomed out over an Icelandic icon of their choice.
