The Council of Australian Tour Operators (CATO) held its inaugural Travel Trivia Masters event on 4 August at Sydney’s Hyatt Regency Hotel with European Travel Commission (ETC) as its headline, platinum sponsor.
The fun-filled, entertaining and educational evening created the opportunity for the industry to come together and reconnect at CATO’s largest event since the pandemic.

Companies and individuals embraced the ‘Country and Culture’ theme with TravelPay awarded best-dressed duo (trio?) winner, while CATO Vice-Chair Lisa Pagotto of Crooked Compass took out best-dressed individual.

The overall winning team of Travel Trivia Masters was ‘The Lying, Cheating Scumbags’.
CATO MD Brett Jardine said the positive feedback and resounding success of the industry-wide event meant Travel Trivia Masters will return in 2023 with a new theme.

“We are thrilled and extremely grateful for the support received from the industry and our sponsors for our inaugural Travel Trivia Masters event,” he said.
“Education is one of CATO’s key pillars and our focus for this evening was to bring this together in a fun, and collaborative environment, along with the industry’s competitive spirit.”

“The industry is back!” echoed Chris Watson of Chris Watson Travel. “The event was a great way to reconnect and come together as an industry after what has been a tough few years.”
“CATO has been a strong voice for the industry and to see so many here tonight is a credit to them.”
The CATO Christmas Lunch 2022 will be held on Thursday 8 December at the Ivy Ballroom in Sydney and is open to the wider industry to book via cato.travel/events.
