“Now is the time”: 1000MTG makes a play for self-branded Australian travel agencies

The new offering allows independent travel businesses to maintain their unique brand identity while benefiting from the support, resources and partnerships of 1000MTG.

To qualify for the self-branded option, travel agencies must meet specific criteria. They need to have at least two members in their agency and operate within a non-corporate niche. Corporate technology services will also remain under the fully branded 1000MTG model.

“We’re thrilled to be able to provide this new option to travel agencies to empower them to grow their business under their own brand identity while benefiting from 1000MTG’s industry expertise, global buying power, and comprehensive support services,” 1000MTG General Manager Australia, Lauren Gray said.

1000MTG CEO and Co-Founder Nicola Veltman said the timing of the launch, long-mooted, was perfect. 

“After many years of being asked for the 1000MTG offering under an independent model, with extensive research and unique creation, we have decided now is the time to take this to market for our internal business owners and interested parties who qualify,” she stated. 

The global travel host agency says the new offering reflects the group’s commitment to providing a supportive and flexible environment for travel agents, who will stand out using 1000MTG’s infrastructure, exclusive deals and partnerships.

This month, the network has already added two self-branded travel agencies to its independent model, and reports it has “vast interest from many more”.

“We look forward to supporting and growing the entrepreneurial spirit in our beloved industry and we are ecstatic to have a home for them at 1000MTG,” Gray remarked. 

In May, 1000MTG unveiled its latest venture, 1000 Mile Travel Escapes – a brand-new brand offering luxury leisure travel experiences in Australia for clients tapping into the network.

Just weeks earlier, the group also partnered with Sabre to launch 1000Access, a cutting-edge travel booking solution for travel agents.

Earlier this year, the group held its second Global Conference in Los Cabos, Mexico with its worldwide network of travel advisors and partners in attendance.

In 2023, the network also hosted its first-ever Australian Symposium in Melbourne.

Launched in Australia in 2015, 1000MTG now comprises over 750 independent travel advisors in Australia, US and UK. It is part of the CTM Group of travel businesses.
