The Africa Safari Co. has appointed experienced travel industry professional Darren Evans to the role of Director of Business Development.
Evans brings more than two decades of travel industry nous to the role, having spent 18 years at Qantas/VIVA Holidays as a State Sales Manager for NSW and ACT, and most recently as a Regional Account Manager for NSW, ACT and Queensland at Helloworld Travel.
“We are thrilled to welcome Darren on board with us,” The Africa Safari Co. CEO Susie Potter told Karryon.
“With a background in sales and many years of experience with the trade, Darren will be responsible for driving the organisation’s growth and expansion.
“In the coming months, he will work to identify new business opportunities, build relationships, and develop strategies to increase revenue and market share.”
Evans told Karryon he was “both excited and looking forward to our future success”.
“When the opportunity came my way to work with Susie and her team at this multi-award winning specialist wholesaler, I had no hesitation,” he stated.
Last year, the Africa Safari Co. added seasoned sales executive and Africa travel enthusiast William Gabb as its new Sales Director.
The company also took part in the inaugural Niche is Nice boutique travel roadshow for advisors in August 2024 and hosted Aussie travel trade as part of South Africa Tourism’s Mega Lekker Escape mega fam.
