The five-star The Calile has had a string of accolades since its opening, including listed in The World’s 50 Best Hotels and recognised as the Best in Oceania.

“At The Calile, we value thoughtful design, warm service and a strong sense of place, qualities we know resonate with Virtuoso’s clientele.”

Suite spot for luxury travellers

Virtuoso says almost half of its preferred hotels now have fewer than 100 rooms and over a quarter of them have less than 50, “ensuring that travellers have options for whatever they’re seeking, be it a quiet, intimate setting or a bustling holiday”.

The network has also released recent data on luxury travellers across 17 global markets, showing suites and villas are a hot commodity, with Australians among the travellers most likely to look for this room type when booking a hotel.

Of those surveyed, 38 percent cited their intention to book a suite, and 27 percent intended to book a villa.

It says the research shows “ultra-high-net-worth travellers’ desires for accommodations that provide more space, privacy and personalisation”.
