Tourism NT has confirmed its seven top-performing travel advisors from Australia and New Zealand who will travel to the Top End this June for its first Aboriginal Tourism Product Awareness Program (ATPAP) famil.

Running 3–9 June 2025, the famil will immerse selected agents in some of the Northern Territory’s most culturally significant and visually striking Aboriginal tourism experiences.

Launched in July 2024, ATPAP is a training initiative created to highlight Aboriginal-owned tourism products and connect the trade with the stories, people, and experiences behind them. The program featured four engaging webinars, each showcasing different Aboriginal businesses, followed by a question-and-answer session.

Agents who completed the full program were entered into a draw to win a coveted spot on this exclusive fam trip.

Now, three advisors from New Zealand and four from Australia have secured their spots. The famil kicks off in Darwin with a sunset cruise on Darwin Harbour with Sea Darwin, followed by a full-day tour through Litchfield National Park with Northern Territory Indigenous Tours.

Next, the group will head into the World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park for an immersive exploration, staying at Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel and Cooinda Lodge. There, they’ll visit ancient rock art sites at Ubirr and Burrungkuy and journey into West Arnhem Land to climb Injalak Hill.

Other highlights include a Yellow Water Cruise through the wetlands, a scenic flight with Kakadu Air, and a night in remote Arnhem Land at Davidson’s Arnhemland Safaris at Mt Borradaile, home to sacred sites, stunning rock art, and rich wilderness. The famil will conclude with a final night at Mercure Darwin Airport Resort.

Tourism NT says the journey brings ATPAP’s mission to life by strengthening ties between travel advisors and Traditional Owners, while deepening industry understanding of the NT’s Aboriginal tourism offering.
