Longevity-focused retreat Amanvari will open in spring 2026 on a private beach along the East Cape of Baja California.

The 18-room property will have sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez and the Sierra de la Laguna mountains, and is part of a more than 600-hectare ‘community’ with seven hectares of organic orchards and farms, an almost five-kilometre-long beach, yacht club and marina.

A longevity-focused spa includes a temazcal (sweat lodge), open-air yoga pavilion and multiple spaces designed for “calm”, while dining venues range from Italian and Mexican to Japanese, or stay in and have a private chef come to you.

The interior design takes its cues from the surrounds with a blend of white concrete, natural stone and hardwood, and includes bespoke ceramics and original artwork by Mexican artisans.

Residences will follow with villas on the sand with views across the Sea of Cortés or overlooking the estate’s Robert Trent Jones II-designed golf course.

Amanvari will become the luxury brand’s sixth property in the Americas and Caribbean with several others to follow in Beverly Hills, Miami Beach and the Bahamas.

Meanwhile, Aman’s recently announced its second property in the United Arab Emirates. Janu Dubai will open in 2027 in the heart of the financial district.

The 150-room hotel will have several restaurants and bars, a private members’ club, event spaces and an extensive wellness and fitness centre and have “sweeping views across the skyline towards the Burj Khalifa on one side and garden views on the other”.

Pritzker Prize-winning architect, Herzog & de Meuron was appointed as designer and says it planned to “embrace a connection to nature through expansive outdoor terraces and balconies with abundant planting and gardens”.
