Celebrity Cruises has twice the shipping news, welcoming its newest ocean ship, Celebrity Xcel, fresh from the shipyard and revealing the name of the next Edge Series luxury liner to debut in 2028: Celebrity Xcite.
Celebrity Cruises officially took delivery of Xcel at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in France ahead of her November 2025 debut. Meanwhile, construction has also now commenced on Celebrity Xcite, due to launch in 2028.
The two Edge Series ships are set to make waves and continue the cruise company’s legacy of premium cruising at sea as part of the Royal Caribbean Group.

Xcel features seven brand-new spaces, while sister ship, Xcite, will be the sixth in the Edge Series fleet and will continue to elevate the onboard experience even more.
Royal Caribbean Group President & CEO Jason Liberty said: “Celebrity Xcel represents the next bold step in our journey to transform the way the world experiences premium travel.”

“Each ship in the Edge Series has reimagined what’s possible at sea through elevated design and experiences that deepen the connection to the destinations being visited.
“With Celebrity Xcel now joining the fleet and Celebrity Xcite on the horizon, we’re continuing to set new standards for excellence and innovation alongside our trusted partners at Chantiers de l’Atlantique.”

Celebrity Xcel will set sail in November for her inaugural season from Fort Lauderdale, offering seven-night itineraries alternating between the Bahamas, Mexico, Cayman Islands and Puerto Plata, St Thomas and St Maarten.
In summer 2026, she will set sail on her first European season on seven- to 11-night Mediterranean cruises departing Barcelona and Athens, including all new overnight stays in Madeira, Portugal.
